The explanation of how the shareout was arranged was given in a  letter from the solicitors dated December 1978 and the tree below is based upon this.  The letter went on to say 
"We invite you as a claimant under the estate herein to prove your entitlement to participate in the distribution of the estate.  What this means is that you have to prove that you are entitled under the Will or intestacy of those persons named above ( ie the people highlighted below)  From our researches into this family we have already in our possession certain copy Probates and can assist in proving who is entitled but where any person has died and no Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration has been obtained, it will be necessary for some person to obtain a grant in order that the necessary share of this estate can be paid to the lawful personal Representative and for such Personal representative to distribute accordingly to the persons entitled to that share of this estate.
We apologise of the last paragraph appears complicated, but in fact it is not, but it is necessary to ensure that the persons claiming are in fact legally entitled to a share of the estate"
