Last Will and Testament of Isabel Myers 1752

In the name of God Amen I Isabel Myers of Felliscliff in the Forest of Knaresborough and County of York being weak in Body but of sound mind memory and understanding (Thanks be to God for the same) do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I comitt my Soul to Almighty God my Creator hoping that I shall obtain full pardon and remission of all my sins by the precious death of our Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and my Body to the Earth in such decent and Christian manner as to my Execut shall be thought meet and convenient and touching such worldly means as the Lord in his mercy hath lent me I dispose of the same as followeth
Whereas I the said Isabel Myers and Arthur Myers my husband did on or about the twenty ninth day of May 1751 in due form of law according to the custom of the said Forest surround one messuage and several Closes of Land called by the names of Back Close, Wood Bush, Bottom Close, Broad Dale, Laith Close, Kettlesing Field Day mexx? three rood ann as Ing and Paddock with some pasturing called Armhole and Bottom Close Head by estimation eight acres and two pennyworth of Land with all Appurtenances situate lying and being in Kettlesing in the Hamlet of Felliscliff aforesaid (as in and by this said Surround may more at large appear) to such uses, Intents and Purposes as should be expressed and declared in the last Will and Testament of me the said Isabel Myers First I give and bequeath all the aforementioned Copyhold premises with all and every of their appurtenances unto my Son Arthur Myers and Elizabeth his present wife for and during the term of their natural lives and after their Decease I give and devise the same unto my Grandsons Thomas Robert and William Myers their Heirs and assigns for ever
And whereas I the said Isabel (some years ago) surrendered part of the aforementioned premises unto my said husband Arthur for and during his natural life my will is that he my husband Arthur shall enjoy the same according to the said Surrender during his natural life. Also my will is that if Elizabeth my son Arthur's wife should happen to outlive him that she shall have the said premises during her widowhood only.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of December in the twenty sixth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of Great Britain and so forth and in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and fifty two.
